How to fix a blurry/purple screen on an iPhone

January 16, 2020

If you have ever experienced a blurry or completely purple screen on your iPhone, you know how frustrating it can be because it basically renders your phone useless. So how do you get your phone back in good working order? It’s important to first understand that there are a few things that can cause the problem:

You phone has been dropped – Even with a protective case, your phone can only take so much trauma. Just so you know, it is possible to drop your phone and cause damage to it without the screen cracking or shattering.

Water or moisture damage – iPhones are meant to be water resistant but not waterproof. Even the best water-resistant cover for your phone can’t fully guarantee that some moisture might find its way in, whether you actually drop your phone in water or it is indirectly affected by rain, snow, steam, or humidity.

A bad flex cable connection – Other intense shocks to your phone, aside from dropping it, can cause the flex cable connection to loosen. This could be cause by being involved in a car accident, jumping down from an elevated platform, perhaps even from riding an intense roller coaster. You might not suspect a problem has occurred until you try using the phone.

So how do you make your phone better? The first thing to attempt is to simple restart your phone. If this doesn’t work, you can reset your phone. If you can view the content on your phone at all, you can go into the Settings app, click on the General Category, then look for the “Reset” tab. Sometime the problem can also be solved by installing a newly available iOS update.
