A cracked smartphone screen is the number one problem that repair facilities deal with on a regular basis. In fact, it is estimated that a cell phone screen gets cracked almost every two seconds in the United States. For many people, it’s just a minor inconvenience that makes it a little harder to read anything shown on the screen. But there are actually some very good reasons why you should get your screen repaired immediately if it breaks—even if you still feel your phone is usable.
Here are a few:
– Internal Damage. A crack in your screen, or any breach to your phone’s case for that matter, makes it susceptible to additional damage. Oil from your finger, dirt, and dust can get inside the screen, potentially causing damage to the internal electronics. A cracked screen also makes your phone far more vulnerable to moisture damage. If you get caught in the rain, drop your phone in the sink or toilet, or a drink gets spilled on it, you’re going to spend far more on repairs to the internal workings of the phone than you would have if you had just invested in a repaired screen.
– Glass. Swiping your finger over a crack on your phone can potentially cut you or insert small glass fragments under your skin. While not particularly dangerous, these glass fragments can get infected if they go undetected and untreated. They can also sometimes be painful and annoying.
– Eye Strain. You might still be able to make out what’s showing on your phone’s screen when it’s cracked, but you might need to squint to do so. Constantly looking at a damaged screen in that manner can cause eye strain, which can also lead to temporarily blurred vision and headaches.
Obviously, you don’t need to go out and buy a new phone if your current phone’s screen gets cracked. Bring it by a Tech Solutions location and we’ll take care of any cell phone repair need you might have, including replacing a cracked screen on just about any make and model smartphone that’s out there.
